Guided by our Chilean heritage, our ancestors and the stories held in our bodies Gabriela and I connect in a one week virtual residency. Gabriela worked from Sydney and myself in the Northern Rivers, NSW and the Gold Coast, QLD.
From two different parts of the world, this residency brought Gabriela and I together to find synergies in the stories shared of the women in our lives. Women blindfolded and hearing frightening unknown sounds in the distance bought goosebumps to our skin as cellular memories moved to the forefront of our dance. Bullets, screams and fabric were objects that we felt and sensed bringing forward a deep enquiry of seeing vs looking. We discovered only the beginning of our skin, bodies and voices telling us ancient stories. We listened to our heartbeat and moved to our embodied memories.
